Outlook Express

To configure your client:

  1. Open Outlook or Outlook Express.
  2. Click the 'Tools' menu, and select 'Accounts...'
  3. Click 'Add,' and then click 'Mail...'
  4. Enter your name in the 'Display name:' field, and click 'Next.'
  5. Enter your full ByteMeMail email address (username@yourdomain.com) in the 'Email address:' field, and click 'Next.'
  6. Enter 'pop.YOURDOMAINNAME' in the 'Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:' field.
  7. Enter one of the following in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:' field. (depending on your internet connection)
    1. 'smtp.saix.net' - if you connect through Telkom ADSL
    2. 'smtp.vodacom.co.za' - if you connect through Vodacom
    3. 'smtp.mtn.co.za' - if you connect through MTN
    4. 'smtp.wbs.co.za' - if you connect through iBurst
    5. 'smtp.cellc.co.za' - if you connect through Cell C
    6. 'smtp.sentechsa.com' - if you connect through Sentech
    7. 'smtp.mweb.co.za' - if you connect through MWeb
    8. 'smtp.tiscali.co.za' - if you connect through Tiscali
    9. 'smtp.isdsl.net ' - if you connect through Internet Solutions
    10. 'mail.YOURDOMAINNAME' - International - set the SMTP PORT TO 587 and enable my outgoing server requires authentication (use same settings as my incoming server)
  8. Click 'Next.'
  9. Enter your ByteMeMail username (including '@yourdomain.com') in the 'Account name:' field. Enter your ByteMeMail password in the 'Password:' field, and click 'Next.'
  10. Click 'Finish.'
  11. Highlight ByteMeMail under Account, and click Properties.
  12. Click the Servers tab, and check that your settings look simliar to the screenshot below.
  13. Click OK.

Congratulations! You're done configuring your client to send and retrieve Gmail messages.
